Amity is a free NHS online health and wellbeing tool for people living in Cheshire and Merseyside.


Using Amity you can manage your GP appointments, medications, and hospital documents, such as appointment letters*, all from one place.


You can also connect virtually with people in your support circle and access useful healthcare advice, apps, and trackers to help you manage your health and wellbeing.


*Please note digital hospital correspondence is only currently available for patients under the care of participating NHS trusts.

Amity is a free NHS health and wellbeing tool for people living in Cheshire and Merseyside who are over the age of 18.


Amity is right for you if you would like to monitor your overall health and wellbeing from the convenience of one place. Find out more about the benefits of using Amity. 

Amity is free to use and does not have to be installed. It can be accessed online using any device.

To use Amity you must be aged 18 or over and a resident in Cheshire and Merseyside.  


If you are not a resident in Cheshire and Merseyside you are still welcome to use Amity however some online services, such as the ability to view your health record and digital hospital correspondence*, will not be available to you. Other services, such as online health trackers and information resources will be available for you to use.

If you are not a resident in Cheshire and Merseyside you are still welcome to use Amity however some online services, such as the ability to view your health record and digital hospital correspondence*, will not be available to you. Other services, such as online health trackers and information resources will be available for you to use.

The NHS App is a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services such as repeat prescriptions and NHS COVID Pass on your smartphone or tablet.


Amity will provide access to your Personal Health Record (PHR) and work is underway with NHS App to use this service as the digital front door so that patients enjoy a joined-up and cohesive experience to best support your health and wellbeing. 

Amity is an online service that can be accessed over the Internet from any device. Amity does not have to be installed.

Using NHS login to sign in to Amity will give you the best user experience. 


If you want to access your health records or any personal information using Amity you must log in using your NHS login to prove who you are. If you choose not to use NHS login, you will still be able to access Amity but you will be limited to only being able to access resources such as health trackers and information on conditions.

To access your health records and personalised content on Amity, you must have completed the necessary verification requirements when setting up your NHS login in order to prove who you are.  This is needed so that we can connect you to your NHS record and protect your health information.


You will be asked to:



  1. Take a photo of your ID

  2. Record your face using your device

  3. Enter your NHS number if you know it. To find out your NHS Number, please use the online find your NHS number service.


Further details such as your date of birth and postcode may also be required to help locate your NHS record.


The information you provide when setting up your NHS login is not shared with Amity. 


Amity only has access to the data required to provide you with access to your healthcare information via 3rd parties. Full details can be found in our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

NHS login allows you to securely access lots of different health and care websites and apps with just one email address and password.


If you want to access your health records or any personal information using Amity you must log in using your NHS login to prove who you are.

If you are experiencing problems accessing Amity using your NHS login, please visit the NHS login help centre for help and advice. Alternatively, please get in touch and we will do our best to support you with your problem. 

You can update your personal details within your 'Account profile'.  This can be found under your name in the top right-hand corner of the screen. 

Amity is an online service that can be accessed over the Internet from any device. Amity does not have to be installed.

Keeping your information secure is of the utmost importance to us.  


Your information is securely stored within Amity, on our Azure servers in the UK. The information you provide is encrypted so that only those people with consent to view the information can do so. All health and care professionals have a duty to protect the confidentiality of patient information. 


Third-party integrations within Amity use your NHS login to enable access. This means that the only information shared is that which is absolutely necessary in order to verify your identity. 


NHS login follows the UK government's data storage standards to keep your information private and secure. For more information, please refer to the NHS login privacy policy.

Your data is used to make your experience on the Amity platform as tailored and relevant to your health and care needs as possible. We will use information in your 'My Health' section to personalise your Resources section, in terms of which Apps are shown as suggestions for you.








Those you have chosen to be in your virtual care circle such as clinicians, friends, and family can see the information you have entered within Amity. You can control who can access what information within your 'Connect' section of the site.

Terms of use


Your Personal Information (Privacy Policy)

There is a Data Sharing Agreement (DSA) and Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) between the care provider and Amity.


The DSA and DPIA are reviewed every few months. It will also be reviewed, agreed and re-signed after the pilot has ended.


The DSA and DPIA have been agreed by Information Governance (IG) leads across the Cheshire and Merseyside region

Not at the moment but this could be something we develop within Amity to make the management of documents easier. 

For security, data protection, and confidentiality it is preferred for this information to remain stored securely within Amity.

You will see current digital correspondence and some other services may have more historical. data available. 

The current patient pilot is for digital appointment letters only. In the future, all correspondence will go this way – depending on if services are signed up and provide letters in a way that would enable the use of Amity.

Most email systems are not encrypted and can easily be accessed by users who may not be the intended person.


By viewing letters within a secure portal such as Amity, you can be sure that your letter is received in a secure, private, and timely manner.
